Public Meeting – Zone 27 Utility System Improvements
The City of Prescott is hosting a Public Meeting for the Zone 27 Water System Improvements Project. The meeting will take place on Thu, Feb. 2 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Prescott City Hall, 201 S. Cortez St.
The City of Prescott and design consultant Atkins North America have designed upgrades to an aging water storage reservoir and pump station in the west Prescott area. The improvements also include the installation of a 12-inch water main along Thumb Butte Road. The existing Zone 27 pump station near the intersection of West Gurley Street and Idylwild Drive will be rebuilt to handle current and future water capacity needs. Additionally, the existing Zone 27 water reservoir along Skyline Drive will be upgraded as part of this project. This reservoir will serve the west Prescott areas with increased storage capacity for domestic service and available "fire flow" necessary to maintain a fire-safe community. Designed to last more than 100 years, the new 1.25-million gallon reservoir will meet growing water needs well into the future.
Community members are encouraged to attend the Public Meeting on Thu, Feb. 2 to learn more about the proposed design and project scheduling. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and a short presentation detailing the improvements will follow. Questions or comments from the general public will be addressed by representatives from the design firm and the City of Prescott.
